This week I've been pretty terrified about the trip, and the packing, and the details... but today I found out more about my host family from Dawn, the Stanford student who's living there right now. Now I am extremely excited.
My host mom's name is Francis, and she seems really hilarious. My dad's name is Claudio, and I have two younger sisters, Daniela (age 9) and Fernanda (age 3). I am so happy that I have little siblings... and no pets. Apparently Daniela loves High School Musical which is awesome... ahh, the ability of Disney to span the continents. I can't wait to buy her HSM stuff to bring to her. My extended family also lives close by, with even more kids and awesome people to meet!
The only thing that really worried me about Dawn's e-mail was the transportation situation she described. Apparently the commute is 40 minutes and I have to switch from the bus to the metro... and Santiago just changed their entire system so it's really confusing. Seeing as I can't handle anything more complicated than the Caltrain, we'll see how that goes.
Well, as you can see I'm a little too excited about blogging, but time to get back to packing. And final papers.
